. Itโ€™s not everyday that a client comes to us w . Itโ€™s not everyday that a client comes to us with a request for an all black living space. We love how this daring, art loving client chose to embrace the dark side! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ–ค The result: An award winning space with layers of personality and cozy, โ€œzenโ€ vibes all around, a perfect space to embrace the soul, especially on days like today ! ๐ŸŒง๏ธ We used a textured black wallpaper on the walls to add depth & sophistication to the space, paired it with black painted doors, trims & ceilings. We chose a warm walnut wood finish for the cabinetry & offered many areas to display the homeownerโ€™s treasured art collection. We curated the furniture to support an evolved, nature inspired aesthetic with hues of moody blues, natural tans, golds & earthy rust tones. This double height great room called for a stateme This double height great room called for a statement fixture to not only illuminate the space but to add sculptural interest to the voluminous room. ย  Our โ€œWishlistโ€ for the ideal piece of great room โ€œjewelryโ€ consisted of: ย  โœ”๏ธ Sculptural & one of a kind โœ”๏ธ Natural elements & textures โœ”๏ธ Complementary finishing to the great room furniture โœ”๏ธ An organic shape โœ”๏ธ Something that had a presence, without distracting from the gorgeous view ย  Mission Accomplished! ย  Canadian designer @randyzieber sure delivered exactly what we were looking for. The fixture is hand sculpted from Italian alabaster. He worked with us & the builder to determine the size & placement of the fixture. ย  So happy with how this unique piece turned out, we always love the chance to support local artisans.@

Proud to say this project is almost five years old! ย  This generously sized 1970โ€™s condo was beige on beige with a bit of sparkly wallpaper flare (even on the kitchen ceiling!) ย  Challenge Accepted! โœ”๏ธ THE WISH: An entertainerโ€™s kitchen, dining, living area with a colourful, open concept. ย  THE IDEA: Rip out walls, wallpaper & carpet *(to our excitement revealed a stunning existing hardwood floor!) The kitchen was narrow and closed off from the main living area, so the floorplan was completely re-configured to feature an open concept kitchen with large island & complementary dining bench area. All great ideas, but it was a major departure from the previous layout, which posed some challenges to plumbing & ventilation. ย  THE SOLUTION: We moved the cooktop to the island & dropped the entire ceiling over the kitchen to accommodate for the hood fan. We selected a ceiling mount hood fan not to obstruct the views & to retain the new open feeling.ย This allowed us to add in lighting and delineate the kitchen from the living area with a change in ceiling height. ย  ADDED FEATURES: We placed an integrated fridge, wall oven & microwave along the one full height wall and added a pull-out pantry & coffee nook complete with a display shelf above it for cookbooks. This allowed us to move the โ€˜workhorseโ€™ part of the kitchen out of the way to allow for a large volume of open countertop space & an island to gather around. The island then took up the previous dining space, so we built in a banquette under the window near the patio doors to sneak in a large dining bench in an otherwise tight space. To make it extra appealing, we selected a minimalist plaid fabric that ties in the two millwork colours used throughout the space. ย  Always considering ๐Ÿถ. We even planned a space for a treat drawer above built in dog bowls tucked under the kitchen cabinets! ย  This is why it is important to hire a designer, especially when reconsidering a different layout for your space. . ๐…๐„๐€๐“๐”๐‘๐„ Baking Station . ๐…๐„๐€๐“๐”๐‘๐„ Baking Station โ€ข Cippolino Polished Marble countertop & backsplash. We selected marble for this area because it is the best surface to roll out dough โ€ข We worked with homeowner closely to plan out strategic interior storage for her cookie cutters, icing containers, etc. โ€ข Vi Tap dispenser for filtered chilled still, sparkling & instant hot water โ€ข Green pop of colour! To add personality and vibrancy to this overall neutral space, counter stools to compliment the stone!
. ๐…๐„๐€๐“๐”๐‘๐„ Fry Kitchen We r . ๐…๐„๐€๐“๐”๐‘๐„ Fry Kitchen We revamped this walk-through fry kitchen with both beauty & utility in mind. โ€ข The mosaic floor was selected to create a statement while walking through the space. It ties together the new cabinet colours, the spaces around the small kitchen and allows for added durability in this high traffic area! ๐Ÿ–ค ๐Ÿค โ€ข The homeowner wanted to work with the existing cabinetry, so we chose to paint the lower cabinets black for contrast, creating a bold graphic feeling & long lasting durability. The uppers were refreshed in a white to keep the narrow space feeling nice and bright ! โ€ข New brushed brass hardware was used to replace tired old hardware, this adds a glam touch, ties the space into the rest of the home and is an easy way to update what you already have! โ€ข A new man-made quartz countertop was selected, again with durability in mind! We used the same material up the backsplash so that there are no pesky grout lines to scrub ๐Ÿงฝ โ€ข This is the only fry kitchen weโ€™ve ever encountered that is a โ€˜walk throughโ€™ - you walk through it to access the main kitchen from the dinning room. Since then, weโ€™ve grown, pivoted, refined who we are as individuals, as partners, as designers, as a team and as a company. Weโ€™ve poured so much energy into this business, in efforts to do what we love and take good care of those around us. ย  In the past weโ€™ve shared our projects here, but have struggled to find a direction of what to share, what is our purpose of posting on social media? Just because we are told we โ€œ๐’”๐’‰๐’๐’–๐’๐’…โ€? To be honest, we arenโ€™t that crazy about doing it and would rather focus on our day-to-day work, so this falls to the way-side. So, true to our nature, weโ€™ve decided to pivot. ย  ๐’๐จ ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž ๐ฐ๐ž ๐š๐ซ๐ž. Pausing to begin a new chapter. ย  ๐–๐ž ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฌ๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐–๐‡๐˜. Our ๐–๐‡๐˜ is so much more than a pretty space. Our ๐–๐‡๐˜ is so much more interesting & intimate.
