Abasa Optical

When Tartan Contracting brought us onto this incredible project, we were truly honored to collaborate with a multi-generational, family-run business nearly 40 years in the making—and still growing strong. This optical shop is anything but ordinary – showcasing bold personality, rich history, and a fearless sense of style.

Following a lease change, the client needed to transition into a smaller, more linear space. That’s where we came in: to creatively reimagine their optometrist office, staff room, and workshop within a reduced footprint—all while maintaining a dynamic, welcoming retail area where clients can browse frames and enjoy fittings in comfort.

Our mission was to organize, optimize, and design a vibrant showroom that complemented—without overshadowing—the shop’s expressive and varied eyewear collections. This move also marked a full rebrand for the company, so we worked closely with the owners and their branding team to establish a fresh, cohesive color palette that reflected their new identity.

The workshop was designed to feel open and connected to the main retail area, encouraging engagement and energy throughout the space. To reinforce this, we developed playful, bold signage for way-finding and used strategic paint accents to define distinct zones while maintaining a unified visual flow.
