Best Builders engaged us to transform a modest bungalow through a major renovation, with the goal of creating a clean, Japandi-inspired space featuring a functional footprint. Collaborating closely with the architect’s original layouts, we refined the floor plan—particularly reimagining the kitchen—and incorporated a larger walk-in closet, an expanded primary bedroom with ensuite, a practical mudroom entry on the lower level, and a stylish home bar area. The result is an incredible transformation that retains the charming bungalow exterior while revealing a modernized, expansive interior at the back.
Working alongside the homeowner, we curated a calm, neutral finish palette complemented by select high-quality and minimalist light fixtures that enhance the serene aesthetic. To manage costs efficiently, we integrated several prefab components, including IKEA boxes customized with doors from the Canadian company Kitch, and pre-made vanities from the Canadian brand Teodor. This renovation beautifully balances Japandi principles of simplicity, natural materials, and understated elegance, resulting in a warm, functional, and inviting home.
