North Vancouver Woodland

Tucked into the heart of the North Vancouver woods, this home blends personality, warmth, and a love for bold design. When the homeowner first reached out, she had already begun updating a few spaces on her own, including the media room, dining area, living room, and bedroom, and decided it was time to bring in professionals for the kitchen and bathrooms. The fearless use of colour, pattern, and texture instantly inspired us, giving us a great foundation to build upon.

Our goal was to reimagine the kitchen, guest bathroom, and primary bath with improved function and flow while honouring the home’s existing charm.

In the kitchen, outdated finishes and inefficient storage were holding the space back. Together, we reworked the layout to maximize useful storage and introduce new features, including a dedicated coffee station framed by tall pantry cabinets. Arched details carry through from other parts of the home, softening the space and tying the design together. A checkered backsplash and open shelving infuse character, while a furniture‑style island, complete with a built‑in compost bin, anchors the room. Layered lighting, warm plastered walls, and natural textures bring a lived‑in feel to this highly functional hub.

The primary bathroom transformation focused on balance and impact. The original corner tub dominated the room, so we replaced it with a more streamlined bathtub selected for both comfort and its soft lines. Custom tile patterns in black, cream and terracotta tones play off the home’s bold aesthetic, while warm lighting and a subtle pattern wallpaper add depth and personality to the room. Medicine cabinets paired with unique sconces add that extra bit of storage every bathroom needs. A new slatted screen offers subtle separation for the toilet area, creating visual privacy without closing off the space.

In the guest bathroom, mainly used as a powder room, we introduced a new layout to enhance flow by adding an arched opening between the vanity area and the shower. The design began with a striking Arte wallpaper in rich tones of black, green, deep yellow, and burgundy, which guided the palette of deep green floor tiles and burgundy‑cream wall tile combinations. Custom lighting and a furniture-like vanity make the space feel elevated yet approachable. For our client (and her dog), we added a walk‑in shower designed for easy rinsing, complete with a soft fabric curtain that adds warmth and movement.

The result is a home that feels deeply personal, layered and full of unexpected details that tell the story of its owners creative spirit.
